Budhadeb Dasgupta’s Kaalpurush (Bengali) and ‘Riding solo to the top of the world’ by Gaurav Ashvin Jani bag the Swarna Kamal for Best Feature and Best Non Feature Film, while Rahul Dholakia gets the award for Best Direction for Parzania at the 53rd National Film Awards. Shri Bardwaj Rangan is the Best Film Critic, while ‘Kundan’ by Sharad Dutt gets the award for Best writing on cinema for the year 2005.

The three juries for feature films, non feature films and Best writing on cinema were headed by Smt. B Saroja Devi, renowned actress, Shri Siddharth Kak, noted film director and Shri Khalid Mohammed, film director and film critic respectively.
