Bangladesh Film Festival Inaugurated in New Delhi
 

A Film Festival on “Bangladesh War of Liberation in Celluloid” will begin in New Delhi on Friday. The three day Festival was inaugurated by Bangladesh High Commissioner in India, Mr Tariq.A. Karim and Secretary (I&B), Mr Uday Kumar Varma. The Festival is being jointly organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) under the Ministry of I & B and Bangladesh High Commission in India. The Festival is being organized on the occasion of 40th anniversary of the Historic War of Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971.

A total of six films will be screened during the Festival. The opening film of the Festival was MATIR MOINA (The Clay Bird). The other five films are: KHELAGHAR, JOYJATRA, KHONDO GOLPO, AMAR BONDHU RASHED & GUERRILLA.

The Festival is being organized under the Cultural Exchange Programmes between the two countries. The screenings are scheduled in Auditoriums II at Siri Fort Cultural Complex. Entry to the Festival screenings is free and on first come first serve basis.

The Festival in New Delhi is the third of the series on the theme. The other two Festivals were organized in Kolkata in December 2011 and at Agartala in February this year respectively.
